In short
This Lead Policy explains what an enquiry (a "lead") is on IndiLookup (https://indilookup.com/), which businesses receive it, what customers and businesses can expect, and the rules businesses must follow when they use a customer's details. How we handle personal information in general is explained in our Privacy Policy.
1. What Is a Lead?
A lead is an enquiry or call-back request that a customer sends through IndiLookup. It contains:
- the customer's name;
- the customer's mobile number;
- the business category and area the customer asked about;
- the page the enquiry was sent from, and the campaign code if the customer came through one of our campaign links.
The customer types these details and sends the enquiry.
2. Who Receives a Lead
- A lead is sent to businesses listed in the category the customer asked about, filtered by the customer's area where we can.
- Leads are not exclusive. The same lead can go to several businesses, and the customer may choose any of them, or none.
- No plan gives a business exclusive rights to a lead. A Location Boost plan gives a business a reserved, boosted place in listings for its category and area; it does not stop the lead from going to other businesses.
- The order and time at which each business receives a lead depend on its plan, its lead limits, and our distribution rules. Some plans receive leads after a short delay.
- A business is told about a new lead with a notification in its IndiLookup account.
3. Checks Before a Lead Is Sent
To protect customers and businesses, we limit how often enquiries can be sent, and enquiries that look suspicious (for example, many enquiries from the same number or browser in a short time) may be held for review or not sent.
4. No Guarantee
IndiLookup passes on enquiries. We do not guarantee that a lead will turn into a sale, a booking or a customer, or that the customer will answer.
5. Lead Accuracy
Leads are based on what customers type. They can sometimes be incomplete or wrong.
Some enquiries may show a "Not verified" badge: the SMS service was unavailable when the customer sent it, so their mobile number was not confirmed by OTP.
6. Payments and Refunds
Leads are not sold one by one and are not refundable, including leads that do not convert, do not answer, or turn out to be wrong. Refunds for plans follow our Refund Policy.
7. How Businesses Must Use a Lead
A business that receives a lead may use the customer's details only to respond to that enquiry. A business must not:
- spam, harass or repeatedly call or message the customer;
- sell, share or publish the customer's details;
- add the customer to unrelated marketing lists;
- use the details for any purpose the customer did not ask for.
If a customer asks a business to stop contacting them, the business must stop. Misuse can lead to restricted lead access, suspension or removal from IndiLookup.
8. Fair Use
Excessive, abusive or suspicious use of the platform can result in restricted lead access.
9. Changes to Lead Rules
We may improve how leads are distributed and update plans and prices. Before any change that affects what businesses on a plan receive or can see, we will update this policy and show a notice to affected business owners in their account at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
Planned changes (not live today)
These are not live today. Before any of them starts, we will update this policy and give business owners at least 14 days' notice:
- Full lead details (name and mobile number) for businesses on an active paid plan, visible for 7 days after each lead is delivered through the plan; earlier leads stay in the business's lead history.
- Businesses without an active plan seeing new leads in their category only as alerts with the customer's first name and part of the mobile number.
- Each business keeping its own status for a lead (for example contacted or converted), separate from other businesses that received the same lead.
- A daily summary of leads for business owners, in the app and, if the owner chooses, by email.
- When a customer verifies their mobile number to see a business's phone number, their name and mobile number may also be sent to businesses in that category as a lead. Before this starts, we will also update the Privacy Policy and the contact popup.
10. Removing a Listing
Many listings are built from publicly available business information. If you own a listed business, you can claim the listing, or ask us to correct or remove it, by writing to support@indilookup.com.
